i look up

as i watch ash fall from the sky

like my skin

paper thin

from days gone cold

in the rain;

frostbite took away the pain

don't worry darling, soon you won't feel it either

viscous blood

through my veins

down it crawls

licking lips and bloody stains

i sigh at the screaming masses

don't worry dear, you'll be deaf soon enough

dark candle flame,

no one ever feels the shame

i came to cauterize my sightless eyes

long since dry;

didn't have the time to cry

they didn't take the time to die

but it happened anyways

don't worry love, your heart will turn to stone

it always does
