inspired by 'A' Philosopher Giving 3 Lecture on the Orrery" (1766) by Joseph Wright of Derby
The wonders of stars that paint the night sky.
Eight lopsided orbs that fly by up high.
Three children. fascinated by the speech,
Dream in admiration of the life they may choose to seek.
The constellations breathe, shining bright above a heath.
At night time stars fall. burning iridescent trails;
O, how I love them all
The books on the shelves cast mysterious spells
The room reflects the atmosphere: spacious, dark, wonderful and mystical
The old and wise lecturer stands tall.
Towering above the astronomical ball.
The planets spin, the younglings grin,
For the secrets of the world
Are being revealed.
